Understanding the Full Picture
The bungalow had a low ceiling which restricted light and made the space feel closed in. The rear of the property was outdated and didn't make use of the generous garden or natural light available. The client wanted a complete transformation — opening up the ceiling, bringing in light, and creating a modern living area.
The Build
From Strip Back to Finished Transformation
Strip Back & Structural Assessment
We stripped the roof back completely to expose the full structure. This allowed us to assess every element and plan the rebuild on a solid, reliable foundation.
Structural Steel & Rear Elevation
The entire rear wall was removed and replaced with structural steel to support the new opening. This created the framework for the full-height glass gable.

Glass Gable & Final Build
The full-height glass gable was installed, flooding the interior with natural light. The vaulted ceiling and rooflights completed the transformation of the living space.
